Virginia Commonwealth University

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Allied Health Professions, one of only a few institutions in the country that provides education in the major allied health professions, ranks among the top programs in allied health in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. The Virginia Center on Aging in the VCU School of Allied Health Professions hosts the Virginia Geriatric Education Center.

Eastern Virginia Medical School

Eastern Virginia Medical School has provided education in medicine, biomedical sciences and other health professions (e.g., physician assistants, surgical assistants and art therapy) in Southeastern Virginia since 1973. EVMS’ participation in the VGEC will enable physician, psychology and physician-assistant trainees and students from the Old Dominion University School of Nursing, the Norfolk State University Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work and other community partners to focus on elder-care training.
